The Role

This Legal Project Manager (LPM) role provides an opportunity to make a significant contribution at a firm-wide level towards improved efficiency and strengthened client relationships. This role will support our legal project management and process improvement capabilities for both internal and client-facing matters; help drive innovation by managing internal legal technology projects in our acclaimed innovation hub; support a pragmatic, commercial and transparent approach to legal services delivery; and support the ongoing transformation of our firm’s legal service delivery capabilities.

 As an LPM, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct LPM support for complex legal matters;
  • Working across our practice groups, IT function and Knowledge Management teams to develop and implement standardised LPM practices and reporting frameworks;
  • Supporting long-term behavioural change in our lawyers through LPM training;
  • Providing project management and process consultancy support to clients and business partners;
  • Contributing to raising the external and internal profile of our LPM function; and
  • Supporting the scoping and delivery of in-house legal technology innovations, and reviewing developments in innovation and technology for the legal services market.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have 5 years’ proven project management experience ideally within a professional services environment, and be able to demonstrate:

  • Project management and/or process improvement competency (with certification desirable);
  • Strong stakeholder influencing and relationship building skills;
  • Outstanding organisational skills, and experience in managing both small and large teams of professionals;
  • Analytical and strategic mind set, with a drive to improve working practices;
  • An ability to innovate and quickly respond to market/client/project changes; and
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, and the ability to rapidly pick-up new systems and software.
