The Role

As an integral member of the Knowledge and Practice Innovation team you will be providing support to the Banking + Infrastructure practice group , assist our lawyers to understand the law, changes to the law, current commercial practice and other relevant information to enable our practising lawyers to efficiently and effectively do their legal work and service the client in a way that is legally correct and ‘deep’ ie draws on the collective wisdom of the firm as a whole. Broadly this will involve:

  • Drafting, editing and proofreading knowledge resources, precedents and other relevant content in accordance with the Knowledge Management strategy;
  • Providing lawyers with access to high quality documents, advices and research;
  • Assisting our lawyers with legal queries on an as needs basis;
  • Helping our lawyers maintain up-to-date legal and commercial knowledge in their practice area;
  • Preparing and presenting training seminars and material; and
  • Participating in a variety of knowledge, process improvement and innovation projects across the firm.

About you

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years post admission experience as a Banking lawyer as well as being able to demonstrate:  

  • Strong communication skills including presentation skills; and the capacity to express complex ideas clearly.
  • Advanced capacity to comprehend new legal concepts and information quickly, and then communicate about them clearly and coherently.
  • Ability to categorise, structure and label information for online delivery.
  • Specialist legal knowledge including MCLE
  • Advanced research skills (legal and other research).
